Maryland, also commonly referred to as ‘America in Miniature’ is located in the Mid Atlantic United States region. The state shares its’ borders with Virginia, West Virginia, Washington D.C., Delaware and Pennsylvania. It’s the 42nd largest state in the United States, and is ranked as the 19th most populated state in U.S with over 6 million people. The state of Maryland has a very diverse landscape such that you can relax on the warm beaches, hike the beautiful mountains, trek through the farmland and check out sights in the big city in a single day. Maryland is also a state of many firsts, for example; the first school in US, King Williams School, was opened here in 1696; the 1st dental school in the US was opened at University of Maryland; Baltimore was home to 1st umbrella factory, 1st coal burning steam engine and 1st elevated electric railway; 13 year old Edward Warren from Baltimore, flew in the 1st successful manned balloon in the US; Maryland was the 1st state to enact worker’s compensation law in the year 1902; and in 1803, the 1st practical refrigerator was invented in Baltimore.
Maryland Vaping Laws
The state of Maryland doesn’t have a statewide vaping ban, instead, vaping is generally prohibited on all MARC commuter railsystem trains. Other enclosed areas or places, such as restaurants and bars which are subject to Maryland clean indoor air act are exempt from the Maryland vaping regulations. That said, it should be noted that some localities within the state may regulate vaping differently and more stringently. For example, there is a complete indoor vape ban in various counties such as; Prince George County, Howard County and Montgomery county. Other localities withing Maryland such as Baltimore have enacted a partial vape ban that exempts places such as, restaurants, bars, e-cigarette shops and video lottery facilities.
